A man has died and another has been seriously injured in an industrial accident in Waterford.
The two men were working at a construction site in Kilbarry in Waterford city when the bucket of a digger came loose and fell on them.
They were both brought to Waterford Regional Hospital after the incident at 10.10 a.m. The deceased was in his mid-30s. The injured man is in his mid-20s - his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The scene has been preserved and an investigation by the Health and Safety Authority is under way.
