The North's Police Ombudsman last night launched an investigation into the death of a 21-year old man in custody in Co Antrim.

The man was arrested by the PSNI in the early hours of yesterday morning and died in Lisburn police station at around 4am.

Officials from the office of Police Ombudsman Nuala O'Loan were informed of the death and moved in to take statements from the officers in the station.

The PSNI said it could not comment while the ombudsman's investigation was ongoing.
