A man has died after being seriously injured in an attack in Co Limerick.
The 48-year-old suffered serious injuries in the incident at the property in Hyde Road, Limerick, on Friday night.
He was taken to Midwestern Regional Hospital in a critical condition and he passed away last night.
A man (22) was arrested yesterday in connection with the incident and detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice act at Roxboro Road Garda station.
He was later released and gardai are preparing a file for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted on the dead man later today.
