A TRALEE man has been charged with the murder of Margaret O'Sullivan at her flat in McCowan's Lane on August 18th. John O'Mahony (35), who is single and has an address at Boherbee, Tralee, was charged at a special sitting of Kenmare District Court late last night. He was arrested early yesterday and was questioned at Tralee Garda station throughout the day.

Sgt Mossie O'Donnell said, when cautioned, Mr O'Mahony had replied: "Not guilty of murder." Judge Humphrey Kelleher ordered he be remanded to Cork prison to appear again before Tralee District Court on Wednesday.

The body of Ms O'Sullivan, a mother of three, was found by her son at her flat on August 19th. A post mortem found she had died as a result of injuries to the head and neck inflicted by a sharp instrument.
