Man charged with fatal stabbing in Killarney

A 34-year-old man was tonight charged with murder after a man was found bleeding to death outside his apartment in Killarney.

A 34-year-old man was tonight charged with murder after a man was found bleeding to death outside his apartment in Killarney.

Mr Joe Greaney, a married father-of-one, from Cahernane Meadows in the town, was charged at a special sitting of Killarney District Court with murdering the 27-year-old.

Mr Fergal Landy, originally from Ennis Co Clare, was found with stab wounds outside his apartment in the Cahernane area at around midnight last night.

Mr Greaney was arrested at 7 p.m. and made no comment when cautioned and charged. An application for legal aid was granted and the court was told that an application for bail may be made at the next court hearing.

Mr Greaney was remanded in custody to appear again before Killarney District Court next Tuesday.
