A man was charged in Belfast yesterday with trying to burn down a pub at the weekend. Mr Neil Joseph Montgomery (38), from Skegoniel Avenue, north Belfast, faced three charges when he appeared at the Magistrates Court. He was accused of attempted arson at Cassidy's Bar, Antrim Road, last Saturday, having two litres of petrol with intent and threatening to burn the bar. He was remanded in custody for a week.
