A man (35) and a boy (15) were arrested this evening after an off-duty garda saw shots being fired from a car on the Porterstown Road in west Dublin.
He contacted gardai who followed the car to Damastown where it was abandoned. The man and boy fled from the car and were chased on foot by gardai.
They were subsequently arrested and a sawn off shotgun was recovered.
They are being held Blanchardstown Garda Station under section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act
