A MAN has been remanded in custody to May 22nd after he admitted having unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl in Mayo nearly nine years ago. Mr Justice Carney ordered a probation report on the man and a victim impact report on the girl before passing sentence.
The defendant pleaded guilty at the Central Criminal Court to committing the offence on the girl, who was aged under on a date from July 27th to December 31st, 1987.
He also pleaded guilty to two charges of sexually assaulting her to cause injury or degradation on February 13th-14th, 1991. The defendant cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim.
