Man (79) missing from Meath home

A 79-year-old man is missing from his home in Co Meath since Monday.

A 79-year-old man is missing from his home in Co Meath since Monday.

Gardaí say they are extremely concerned for John Pidgeon from Dowth, which is near Drogheda, Co Louth.

There have been possible sightings of Mr Pidgeon two and a half kilometres from his home at the Curly Hole, an area beside the River Boyne.

He is described as 1.78 metres tall (5' 10") with longish grey hair. He is believed to be wearing a check cap, navy overcoat and grey pants. A co-ordinated search involving gardaí and locals is taking place today.
