A 65-year-old man has died following a fire in his house at Ballinhassig, Co Cork, yesterday morning. The man, who lived alone, was found dead when fire fighters broke into his bungalow at about 4.30 a.m.
Neighbours had earlier alerted the fire brigade to the blaze but the house was destroyed by the time they arrived shortly after. Gardai say they will name the man today.
