A man (38) has died following a motorbike crash in Athlone, Co Westmeath.
The man suffered serious injuries when the motorcycle crashed at Kilmacaugh, Athlone, at 11.15 p.m. last night.
A female pillion passenger suffered injuries, but these are said not to be life threatening.
The pair were taken to Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe, but the man died this morning.

Meanwhile, gardaí in Tallaght have appealed for witnesses to a crash on Fortunestown Lane, Tallaght, at 7.15 a.m.
The accident involved a motorcycle and a car. The motorcyclist is in a life-threatening condition in Tallaght Hospital. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Gardai at Tallaght on 01-6666000.
