A man is recovering in hospital today after being shot in the leg in west Belfast.
The youth (18) was walking along the Falls Road at about midnight when he was approached by two men, who punched him to the ground.
One of the attackers then took out a gun and shot him in the leg.
A PSNI spokeswoman said the assailants then ran down an alley in the direction of Willowbank Park.

The victim is said to be in a stable condition in hospital.
