Australia coach Garry Lyon today finalised his 27 man squad to take on Ireland in the International Rules series at Croke Park next month.

Port Adelaide powerhouse Chad Cornes is one of 13 players added to the 22 strong All-Australian team - the AFL equivalent to the All-Stars who automatically earn selection - in recognition of his outstanding season in the Australian League.

Also selected is Brisbane Lions wildman Jason Akermanis. Followers of the hybrid game will remember the dogged player from his bruising encounters with Tyrone star Peter Canavan two years ago.

Only four players - last year's captain Craig Bradley, Josh Francou, Simon Goodwin and Warren Tredrea - remain from the panel that were whitewashed 2-0 by Ireland in Australia last year.
