Software company Logica will create 140 jobs in Cork in a new product centre. The Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Mr Dan Wallace, officiated at the opening.

Logica entered the Irish market in 1997 when it acquired Irish mobile telecoms software company Aldiscon for £55 million.

The company has increased its operations since then and now employs 450 staff in Dublin and 50 in Cork. It is expected that a further 90 people will join the Cork facility over the next 18 months.
