Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier could be released from hospital before Sunday, his assistant Phil Thompson said today.

The Liverpool manager has been in hospital since undergoing heart surgery nearly three weeks ago. He was placed in intensive care after the operation, but is now considered well enough to return home.

"We don't think it's too far away. It could be in the next three days but it will probably be after the Manchester United game on Sunday.
