Lennox Lewis faces fights inside and outside the ring following today's confirmation of a time and date to take on heavyweight challenger Hasim Rahman and a less savoury legal clash with his disenchanted promoter Panos Eliades.

While Eliades was claiming he is owed millions of dollars by the British IBF and WBC heavyweight champion - and that he is about to begin legal action to reclaim his money - Lewis's manager Frank Maloney was making happier announcements about his boxer's next title defence.

Lewis will face American Rahman in Johannesburg on Saturday April 21st.

But before then he may have to concern himself with the legal storm Eliades is brewing up amid reports his relationship with Lewis has gone off the rails and he is being ditched from his job as promoter.

Asked whether it is accurate to say that he is to be dismissed by the Lewis camp, Eliades said: "They cannot sack me. They are trying to get rid of me but they cannot sack me."

Eliades also left little doubt about his contempt for the way Lewis has behaved towards him in recent times.

"When a man gets to the top money and power do funny things. Lennox feels he is in a position where he wants to manage and promote and doctor and do everything. He wants to do it all himself."

But Eliades is determined to hang on to what he believes is rightfully his and made it clear he will not be going quietly.
