Labour Court to hear ASTI case

The Labour Court is expected to invite the Association of Secondary Teachers, Ireland to talks next Friday

The Labour Court is expected to invite the Association of Secondary Teachers, Ireland to talks next Friday. It had been thought the talks might begin by Wednesday but the urgent need to resolve the Aer Lingus dispute has led to a short delay.

The court is hearing the teachers' case on the basis of a formula brokered by a senior industrial relations officer at the Labour Relations Commission, Mr Tom Pomphrett. The court is expected to make a recommendation within a month of its hearings concluding.
