Kingspan appoints new chief executive

Kingspan has announced the appointment of Mr Gene Murtagh Jnr as the company's new chief executive.

Kingspan has announced the appointment of Mr Gene Murtagh Jnr as the company's new chief executive.

Mr Murtagh has been with the group for 11 years and is currently Chief operating officer.

Kingspan also announced the appointment of former Irish EU Commissioner, Mr David Byrne, as a non-executive director. Mr Byrne served as the first Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection from September 1999 until November 2004. Prior to this, Mr Byrne served as Attorney General.

Mr Eugene Murtagh will continue as non-executive chairman. Mr Murtagh announced in May that the role of chairman and chief executive would be split, and that the board would be further strengthened by appointing additional non-executive directors.
