A HIGH Court judge yesterday ordered the arrest of four travellers who have refused to leave an industrial estate at Gort Road, Ennis, Co Clare.

Mr Justice Kelly ordered the arrest of Mr James Casey, Ms Kathleen Casey, Ms Eileen Casey and Ms Mary Doherty. They were to appear before the court at a date to be decided to say why they should not be jailed for being in contempt of a previous court order made by Mr Justice Morris on May 6th last.

Yesterday, Mr Daniel O'Keeffe SC, for Clare County Council, said that while a number of travellers had left the site, the four breached the order's terms.

Mr Justice Kelly said he was satisfied there was primafacie evidence that the four travellers had not complied with the order made by Mr Justice Morris and directed that the Garda arrest them and bring them to court.
