Jordan has executed two Islamist militants convicted two years ago of killing a US diplomat in Amman in 2002.

Jordan has executed two Islamist militants convicted two years ago of killing a US diplomat in Amman in 2002.

Prison authorities in Swaqa had carried out a court decision to hang Libyan Salem bin Suweid and Jordanian Yasser Freihat who had been serving a death sentence passed in 2004 for murdering U.S. diplomat Laurence Foley in Amman in October 2002.

The men were hanged at dawn.
