Jerusalem - Israel accused Iran yesterday of extracting a false confession from the prime suspect in its trial of 13 Jews for espionage, and cautioned that it would not tolerate the persecution of Jews.

Iran's judiciary said on Monday that Hamid "Danny" Tefileen, one of 13 Jews arrested last year in Iran's Fars province, had admitted passing classified information to the Mossad, Israel's intelligence agency, for money and love of Israel.
