An Irish tourist who fell ill in Thailand has died following a fall in his bathroom, according to the Thai Public Health Ministry.
The man, who has been named in news agency reports as William Santry (25), from Cork, was a guest at a resort hotel in Koh Samui, where he was holidaying with his girlfriend, Thai police said yesterday.
According to the Health Ministry, Mr Santry was found unconscious in his hotel bathroom and taken to hospital where he later died.
The police said they understood the man fell in the bathroom of the unnamed hotel in the south of the country shortly before midnight on Sunday.

His girlfriend was said to have told officials that Mr Santry had been ill for two weeks before the accident.
