Olympics - Equestrian: THE FIVE Irish horses competing in the Olympic three-day event passed the first veterinary inspection earlier today at Sha Tin racecourse in Hong Kong where the initial session of dressage starts tomorrow at 6.30am local time.

Former dual gold medallist Mark Todd will be first into the arena for New Zealand on Gandalf with Austin O'Connor and Hobby du Mee getting the Irish challenge underway seven horses later. Captain Geoff Curran and Kilkishen will also compete during the morning session with Louise Lyons and Watership Down coming before the ground jury tomorrow evening.

Both Patricia Ryan (Fernhill Clover Mist) and Niall Griffin (Lorgaine) ride their tests during the concluding session on Sunday morning.
