West Ham United have today announced that Republic of Ireland international Gary Breen and former UCD centre half Clive Delaney have been released from the club.

Breen made 13 starts for the club was the subject of much speculation before his move to West Ham, being linked to Inter Milan and Barcelona.

However a disappointing spell at Upton Park is likely to have quashed interest in Ireland's World Cup hero,

Delaney moved to West Ham on a free transfer from UCD and was initially expected to stay at the club, having reportedly been offered a contract.

It is believed that there are a number of clubs interested in the 23 year old.

Ireland youth international Darryl McMahon has however been kept on. The midfielder signed a professional contract with the club last summer.
