Gardaí in Cork city are investigating an incident in which a teenager was found with multiple stab wounds at a house in the Shandon area.

Gardaí and the emergency services were called to a house on John Redmond Street at around 9pm on Tuesday.

When they arrived at the scene they found a man in his late teens who had sustained stab wounds. He was transferred by ambulance to Cork University Hospital for treatment.

His injuries are not life threatening.

The scene was preserved for a technical examination and enquiries are ongoing.
