Man dies in Co Donegal car crash

A man has died following a car crash in Co Donegal.

Two vehicles collided at around 3.30pm this afternoon on the Donegal Town to Ballybofey road, 7 km outside of Donegal Town.

A man in his 80s, the sole occupant of one of the cars, was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene before being brough to Letterkenny General Hospital.

The sole occupant of the second car, a woman in her 60s, was also taken to Letterkenny General Hospital where her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The road has been closed for a Forensic Collision examination and diversions in place.
