Man (74) dies after car collides with truck in Roscommon

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses after a 74-year-old man died following a car crash in Co Roscommon this morning.

The incident took place near Tulsk at around 10am after the car he was driving collided with a lorry on the N5 road at Lissaphuca.

He was immediately transferred by air ambulance to University College Hospital Galway where he was pronounced dead.

Gardaí have since reopened the road following its closure for technical examination but have renewed their appeal for witnesses.
