Cyclist dies in Limerick city traffic collision

Woman believed to be in her 30s was pronounced dead at the scene

A cyclist has died in a traffic collision in Limerick city.

The incident involving an articulated truck and the cyclist happened at the junction of Rutland Street, Fr Mathew Bridge and Charlotte’s Quay at 7.30am.

The woman, believed to be in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has been removed to the Mid Western Regional Hospital where a postmortem examination will take place.

The roadway in the area, which is close to The Hunt Museum, is closed and diversions are in place.
