Boy (8) seriously injured after being hit by van in Dublin

Gardaí are looking for witnesses to come forward after an eight-year-old boy was hit by a van in Co Dublin on Friday afternoon.

The incident happened Shanganagh Road, Shankill near the Hazelwood estate at 4.45pm.

The van was travelling in the direction of Shankill Village when it hit the boy. “The driver of the van has been interviewed by gardaí. The injured boy was taken to Temple Street Hospital and is in a serious condition”, a Garda statement said.
