Body found in Dublin may have lain undetected for months

Discovery made at Royal Canal in Phibsboro today

Gardaí are investigating the discovery of a badly decomposed body at a derelict house in Dublin which may have gone undetected for a period of months.

At this stage, gardaí do not suspect foul play but forensic examinations at the scene are ongoing.

A post mortem is due to be carried out tomorrow in order to establish gender and a cause of death.

The discovery at an address at Royal Canal Bank West in Phibsboro was made at mid-day today.
