Award-winning musician YolanDa Brown, acclaimed saxophonist Pharaoh Sanders and rockabilly singer Imelda May are among the highlights of this year’s Guinness Cork Jazz Festival.

The full artist line-up, announced yesterday, will see 1,000 musicians from 29 countries performing in over 80 venues over the October bank holiday weekend.

A diverse array of musicians, including many who fall outside the “jazz” remit, will converge on Cork for the four day celebration beginning on October 23rd.

Among the highlights are dance act Fish Go Deep, tribute acts These Charming Men and The Stone Roses Experience, and the ever-popular Hypnotic Brass Ensemble.

Other highlights include The Fun Loving Criminals, drummer Jack DeJohnette, The Coronas, Director and Don Baker.

The Sun Ra Arkestra will also perform, as well The Alain Bédard Auguste Quartet, the Gilard Atzmon Jazz Quartet and the Francois Bourassa Quartet.
