I ran with my daughter . . . I must go and feed her now

I signed up to do the marathon ages ago – I knew Id be able to walk it at least. I wasn’t sure if I’d carry her in a sling or put her in the pram – but I put her in the pram.

We kind of ran and walked it – usually I’d run it. She started crying at about six kilometres, but for the last bit she was fine.

We’re running for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

My grandad died from it a few years ago, his name was John Clancy and he was from Galway. I’ve been running the mini marathon for the association for the past 15 years.

I think Áine’s the youngest competitor.

I must go and feed her now.
