A hurling referee is still in hospital after an alleged attack by a player during a Dublin junior club match on Saturday night.

According to reports, match official Eddie Walker required hospital treatment for a broken arm and a punctured lung following the attack by a Crumlin player during their Dublin Junior A Championship first round tie against Naomh Barrog.

A spokesperson for Beaumont Hospital, where Mr Walker is being treated, declined to comment on his condition.

A player has been banned by the Crumlin management until a meeting tomorrow night.
