Johannesburg - The ashes of the renowned antiapartheid campaigner, Archbishop Trevor Huddleston, have been laid to rest in South Africa, 15 months after his death.

Only a handful of people attended the burial of the remains of the 84-year-old archbishop in the gardens of his former parish in Sophia town, the formerly blacks-only Johannesburg suburb where he lived during his almost 12 years in South Africa, the Sunday Times reported.

"It just took a while to decide what to do and how to do it," said Bishop Duncan Buchanan of Johannesburg, explaining the delay.
