Trinity: A final decision on the number and composition of schools will not be made until December. However, the following is an outline of the likely number and composition of schools and departments under the current proposals.

Arts (Humanities) and Arts (Letters): Two schools - Medieval History, Modern History, History of Art, Classics and the Centre for Women and Gender Studies; French, Germanic Studies, Italian, Hispanic Studies, Russian, Irish and Celtic Languages and the Centre for European Studies.

Business, Economics and Social Science (BESS): Still to be decided, but could either consist of the present departments in BESS; or two schools, one of which would involve the Department of Philosophy.

Health Sciences: Three schools - School of Nursing and Midwifery Studies; School of Dental Science; School of Physics, with six "divisions" - Education, Clinical and Molecular Sciences, Science and Medicine of the Mind, Integrative Biology, Human Performance and Physical Medicine, Population and Developmental Health

Faculty of Engineering and Systems Sciences: Still to be decided, but there could be two schools, one each in Engineering and Computer Science and Statistics; or a more general school consisting of Engineering, Computer Science and Statistics

Science Faculty: Still to be decided. However, there could be schools in the following subjects: Life Sciences, Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences and a combined Physics, Chemistry and Centre for Research on Adaptive Nanostructures and Nanodevices School; Geography and Geology; Molecular and Cellular Biology; Alternatively, a more general structure is under discussion, to include a School of Science (biochemistry, botany, chemistry, genetics, geography, geology, microbiology, physics and zoology); consolidation of the existing school of Pharmacy
