The Fitzwilliam Hotel has been granted ownership of three paintings at the centre of trial against chef Mr Conrad Gallagher.

Mr Gallagher began a legal battle in July to claim ownership of the three Felim Egan paintings that he was accused of stealing after being cleared of the charge.

The Dublin District Court today granted ownership of three Felim Egan paintings to the Fitzwilliam Hotel.

The abstract paintings, worth €10,900, were on display in the Fitzwilliam Hotel, on St Stephen's Green, and were seized by gardaí when the investigation into Mr Gallagher began in 2000.
