Clare’s under-21 hurlers continued their dream season by defeating Galway to book a place in the final against Kilkenny with a 3-23 to 5-15 extra-time thriller at Semple Stadium in Thurles this afternoon.

The Banner side had to face up to the might of Joe Canning, who, despite scoring a massive 4-7, came out on the losing side.

Clonlara’s Darach Honan was yet again the scoring hero for Clare following his 2-2 in their Munster Final victory over Waterford. The tall forward hit 2-4 for John Minogue’s side, including a goal in the fourth minute of extra time to put his side five points clear.

Aidan Harte replied with a three-pointer for the young Tribesmen soon after but they could never catch Clare who finished the game looking far stronger than a Galway side that were playing in their first Championship match
