Dr Pauric Travers has been appointed president of St Patrick's College, Drumcondra, one of the State's two major teacher training colleges. Dr Travers, who has been a lecturer in history at the college since 1981, will be the first lay president of the college since its foundation 124 years ago. He succeeds Father Simon Clyne, who will retire as the last Vincentian president in August.
