High Court clears way for farm sale

A High Court judge yesterday cleared the way for the sale of a Co Tipperary farm which was at the centre of a legal dispute

A High Court judge yesterday cleared the way for the sale of a Co Tipperary farm which was at the centre of a legal dispute. The farm is being sold for £425,000 to discharge an undertaking and meet a bank debt.

Mr Justice Kelly had made an order last November directing the execution of documents by a High Court registrar to facilitate the sale of the farm of Mr Donal Brereton, at Oldcourt, Borrisokane, Co Tipperary. However, he put a stay on his order after issues arose regarding the presence of tenants there.

The judge yesterday lifted the stay and refused a request on behalf of Mr Brereton to continue the stay to enable new proceedings to be taken.
