Gardaí are seeking assistance from the public in tracing a Bed and Breakfast lost by three disorientated Italians on a visit to the city last weekend.

After arriving in Dublin last Sunday, the three men checked into a B&B with a green door and went exploring, having what has been described as "a lovely day in the city".

Sadly after their day of fun came to an end the men realised they had completely forgotten both the name and location of their B&B.

Coupled with the major embarrassment of losing their lodgings was the realisation that the room - which they had paid for in advance - contained identification belonging to one of the men, most of their money and all their tickets home.

Unwilling to let the set-back disrupt their holidays, the men have continued their tour of Ireland - albeit with fewer clothes and a great deal less money.

They are currently thought to be in the Kilkenny area, where they have been sleeping in a car.

The men are due to fly home on Friday afternoon and Aer Lingus has made arrangements to allow them travel without tickets.

According to gardaí, all that is known about the location of their B&B is that the men checked in on Sunday evening and it has a green door on a "busy" Dublin street.

To make it even more difficult to establish the location or identity of the hotel (or B&B), it had not been pre-booked.

Anyone with any information has been asked to get in touch with Garda Tourist Victim Support Office on (01) 478 5295.
