Patient injured after fall from window at Cavan hospital

Woman had subdural haemorrhage as well as fractures after incident early on Thursday

A woman patient has sustained multiple fractures after falling out of a window at Cavan General Hospital.

The woman fell out of the window of a day room in the hospital early on Thursday morning, a spokeswoman for Cavan & Monaghan Hospital has confirmed.

The woman, who suffered a subdural haemorrhage as well as fractures, has since been transferred to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda for urgent medical care.

The spokeswoman said she was in a stable condition.
