Linking diet, exercise and health:The relationship between diet, exercise and health will be discussed at a public lecture in the Boole Theatre at University College Cork (UCC) tomorrow at 8pm.

Prof Nora O'Brien, nutritionist and associate professor in the Department of Food and Nutritional Science at UCC, will speak on the theme of "Obesity: A Global Public Health Issue in the 21st Century".

Labyrinths or mazes are increasingly being used as a tool for self-discovery and healing.

Tony Christie is a certified labyrinth facilitator and he will lead a workshop which explores the use of labyrinths for meditation, prayer and play.

The workshop takes place on Saturday from 10am-5pm in the Edith Stein Hall, Clarendon St, Dublin 2.

Taking care of carers

How to meet the needs of the family carer is the topic of the Caring for Carers 17th annual respite break and conference, which will be held in the Clare Inn, Dromoland, Co Clare, from Friday to Sunday next.

National brain awareness week

The Neurological Alliance of Ireland, the umbrella group for Irish neurological charities, will be holding events throughout the country for National Brain Awareness Week, which takes place from March 10th to 16th.
