If you do one thing this week... keep moving while you travel

If you do one thing this week . . . keep moving while you travel

It’s a strange thought, but much of modern travel involves keeping still. Your body might be transported by planes, trains, boats or cars, but your physical activity levels can stay pretty low.

So why not work in movement where you can? At the airport, skip the travelator and walk, bypass the escalator and take the stairs. Carry your case from time to time instead of rolling it along.

On a boat, plane or train, try to get up and move around frequently (booking an aisle seat on the plane helps make it easier).

Schedule stretch breaks during long car journeys.

And if you must sit for long periods, rotate your wrists and ankles frequently and flex whatever muscles you can.

You might find you will reach your destination feeling fresher and ready for the next adventure.
