The Government should offer to host the next round of the Middle East peace talks, according to Mr David Norris (Ind).
Citing the role Norway played in securing the Oslo peace accord, Mr Norris said Ireland could provide a location "completely away from the oven".
Minister of State Mr Noel Davern said the Government, with other EU states, supports the US approach of linking progress in redeployments by Israel from occupied territories with progress by the Palestinians in tackling terrorism.
