A shot was fired into a busy Cork city centre pub last night.

According to a Garda spokesman, a motorcyclist pulled up outside the Macushla Bar on Blarney Street, Cork, at midnight.

Nobody was injured in the incident and the gunman fled the scene.

The scene was cordoned off pending an examination by a Garda forensic team.
