Moriarty Group, the hotel and retail operator, has announced plans to create 350 jobs as it expands its business across Dublin over the next five years.

The group intends to build a hotel and Supervalu in north Co Dublin and a hotel in Palmerstown in west Dublin.

The group owned by businessman Luke Moriarty already owns three Supervalu stores in Balbriggan, Skerries and Palmerstown, and two hotels, The Bracken Court Hotel in Balbriggan, Dublin and the newly opened Courtyard Hotel in Leixlip, Kildare.

The Moriarty Group currently employ a total of 1,000 people in Ireland.

The Courtyard is situated on the original site of Arthur Guinness's first brewery, which he opened with £100 left to him in the will of his godfather, the Archbishop of Cashel.

The jobs announcement was made at the formal opening of the Courtyard by the Minister for Arts Sports and Tourism John O'Donoghue.
