Grand opening for festival

It's not often you get the chance to hear one of the most famous choirs in the world

It's not often you get the chance to hear one of the most famous choirs in the world. The choir of King's College, Cambridge are at St Patrick's Cathedral tonight under Stephen Cleobury for the opening of the Dublin International Organ and Choral Festival.

They can also be heard, in a Mass by Widor, at 11 a.m. in the Pro-Cathedral tomorrow.

Other festival highlights include Ewald Kooiman's recital on the Frobenius organ at the Church of the Assumption, Tullamore, Co Offaly, (Monday), the Dublin International Organ Competition at Christ Church Cathedral (second round on Wednesday and Thursday, finals this day week), and an opportunity to hear the last winner, Neil Cockburn, at St Michael's, Dun Laoghaire, on Sunday 27th.
