The six-year-old girl who died after being accidentally struck by a golf club was laid to rest in Nenagh, Co Tipperary, yesterday.

Paige Corcoran from Springfort Meadows, Nenagh, died after being accidentally struck in the throat with a golf club while playing with other children in the Carrig Rua estate in the town on Sunday morning last.

In his homily at the Mass yesterday in St Mary of the Rosary Church, local parish priest, Fr Tom Seymour, remembered the life of Paige, who was a pupil at the nearby Convent of Mercy primary school.

"Everybody has been affected in one way or another by the passing of Paige from us. Everybody has been touched deeply by what you are going through. It is a very difficult place to be today and one that could never have been imagined in our worst nightmare," Fr Seymour told her family.
