Further bail conditions were imposed including that he reside at 12 Lintown Place, Kilkenny, surrender his passport and identity card and sign on daily at Kilkenny Garda station between 9am and 9pm.

Solicitor for the defendant Josephine Fitzpatrick told the court her client did not have a passport and agreed that he would not apply for one before his next court appearance.

Mr Pohl was also told to notify gardaí in Portlaoise of any change of address and to have no contact with Mr Wiederhold.

Mr Wiederhold was remanded in custody with consent to bail.

The same bail conditions were imposed.

His solicitor, Philip Meagher, told Judge Aenus McCarthy that his client was residing at the same address as his co-defendant and that this could pose a problem in relation to having no contact.

Judge McCarthy then told the court that in this case Mr Wiederhold was to reside at an address to be approved by the court. He was remanded in custody to appear in Cloverhill District Court on Friday, December 28th.

Both men are due to appear again in Portlaoise District Court in January.
