Geraghty appeal to Leinster Council fails

Meath's Graham Geraghty has failed in his attempt to have a 12-month suspension overturned.

Meath's Graham Geraghty has failed in his attempt to have a 12-month suspension overturned.

The player had appealed the decision of the Meath county board to the Leinster Council, but the board last night rejected his petition.

Geraghty was issued with the ban following an alleged incident of verbal and physical abuse of a referee at a club game between Seneschalstown and Ballivor last month.

The failure of the appeal may now cast doubts on the footballing future of the 30-year-old.
